Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data VIPtransfer.ie collects when you use our website or book a private transfer, how we use it, and the rights you have over it under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who We Are

VIPtransfer.ie provides private chauffeur and airport transfer services across Ireland. For the purposes of data protection law, VIPtransfer.ie is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@viptransfer.ie.

2. What Data We Collect

We only collect the data needed to provide our services:

  • Booking and quote requests: your name, email address, phone number, pickup and drop-off locations, travel date and time, number of passengers and luggage, flight number (for airport pickups), and any notes or special requirements you add.
  • Contact form messages: your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
  • Payments: payments are processed by PayPal. We do not receive or store your card details; we receive only a confirmation of payment and a transaction reference.
  • Technical data: basic usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

3. Why We Use Your Data

  • To respond to your quote request or enquiry and confirm your booking (performance of a contract).
  • To carry out the transfer itself, for example monitoring your flight and coordinating your pickup (performance of a contract).
  • To send booking confirmations and service-related emails (performance of a contract).
  • To keep basic business records and comply with legal obligations, such as accounting requirements (legal obligation).
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it (legitimate interest).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who We Share Data With

Your data is shared only with the service providers needed to operate our business, each acting under their own GDPR-compliant terms:

  • Payment processing: PayPal (payment handling; we never see your card details).
  • Email delivery: our transactional email provider, used to send booking confirmations and notifications.
  • Website hosting and database: our hosting and database providers, which store booking records securely within their infrastructure.
  • Google services: Google Maps (address suggestions in the booking form) and Google Tag Manager (website analytics). These services may set cookies as described in section 6.
  • Your driver: the chauffeur assigned to your journey receives the details needed to carry out the transfer (name, pickup details, contact number).

5. How Long We Keep Data

  • Booking records are kept for as long as required for business and accounting purposes under Irish law.
  • Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see section 7).

6. Cookies

The website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies needed for the site to function, and analytics cookies (via Google Tag Manager) that help us understand how visitors use the site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@viptransfer.ie. We will respond within one month.

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change service providers. The latest version will always be available on this page.
